We seek blessings and comfort. The Lord may give them to us, but He doesn’t keep doling them out if we don’t put Him first. The Lord is faithful and keeps His covenant to those “who love Him and keep His commandments”. If we aren’t putting Him first, those coincidences and roadblocks we’re experiencing just may be the Lord blocking our comfort in order to get our attention. This morning I listened to Tony Evan’s sermon: Now is the Time for Revival that gives us God’s viewpoint on sidestepping putting Him first. Perhaps you, too, need to hear this today.

“Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God (El Emunah), who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments” (Deut 7:9).

El Emunah, Your faithfulness convinces me that nothing can ever separate me from Your love. Death nor life, fear nor worry – not even the powers of hell can separate me from You because You are faithful. I honor and adore You for the faithfulness that You show me even when I am unfaithful to You. I praise You for keeping Your covenant of love not only to me, but also to a thousand generations of those who love You and seek You with all of their hearts, minds and souls. I praise El Emunah for the faithfulness that You revealed in writing and recording Your Word for my instruction so that through endurance and the encouragement of Your Scripture, I might have hope. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
