This morning I listened to yesterday’s podcast by Tony Evans on the requirements of revival. Whatever we are going through right now may be a test to strengthen our faith, or it may be something that the Lord caused in our lives to get our attention, so that we come back to Him humbly for spiritual refreshment. “If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chron 7:13-14)
The Lord wants us to seek Him, repent from our wicked ways (which is anything we put before Him). Until we do, He doesn’t promise to hear our prayers. There is no forgiveness without repentance, so there is no healing without coming humbly before the Lord and repenting. This spoke very loudly to me. Perhaps one of you also needs to hear it. I invite you to listen: Requirements for Revival by Tony Evans It’s 30 minutes that just may change your perspective and put you on the right path.
El Bethel, the God of the House of God, abide in me. Set up Your home in the very depths of my soul. Let Your words dwell in me that I may know and live by them and for You. Reveal to me the sin I must confess and turn from that I may be pure and blameless in Your sight. Show me how to best honor You through this temple which You have set up within me. Guide me in my eating habits, in my entertainment choices and even in what I wear so that Your house – El Bethel – that is in me may glorify You in all that I do. Grant me the discernment to know how to reflect You well. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
