We discussed yesterday the importance of keeping our eyes on our Lord instead of what the world wants us to keep in view. A few verses down in Jude, we see why: He is able to keep us from stumbling! Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 1:24).

The answer to how He is able to keep us from stumbling is found in another epistle. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Eph 3:20). It is His power that works within us; it’s only up to us to humble ourselves and submit to His work in our spirit. And He is able to do it with His exceeding joy! It is Christ who is able to present us faultless because of our faith in Him, His righteousness is bestowed upon us by His great mercy and grace.

As I think on what He desires to do for us if we keep our eyes on Him, I can think of no better response than to praise our Sovereign and mighty Lord. To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.” (Jude 1:25)

Father, thank You for the beautiful reminder this morning that it is Your power working within me that is able to do exceeding above all that I can ask or think. I am in awe that You are ready to use me in ways that I haven’t even considered for the glory of Your kingdom. Lord I praise You for You alone are wise and have all the dominion and power, now and forever. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
