Yesterday we discussed the danger of fellowshipping with darkness. As Christ followers we must contend for our faith: “Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Jude 1:3-4)

If you’ve studied any of the end time prophesies in God’s Word, you already understand that we are moving toward a one-world order. The craftiness of the evil one would have us believe that we should accept others and their own truth, but that is against God’s Word. As Christ followers we must contend for our faith.

“Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; and in no way alarmed by your opponents—which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and this too, from God.” (Phil 1:27-28)

And no matter that the world believes that we should accept all and pretend that we all pray to the same god, we don’t. We must remember that light and darkness have nothing in common. We must understand that those who worship their prideful selves are darkness, and we have nothing in common with them, for “…what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God…” (2 Cor 6:14-17).

As created beings lesser than angels, we don’t have the power on our own to fight against the invisible spiritual forces that come against us. We must depend upon the armor that our Lord has given us. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Eph 6:10-13)

The world is becoming substantially darker by the day. It is only through the armor our Lord has given us that we are able to “Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life” (Prov 4:23). The reason to guard our heart is clear: “The upright (honorable, intrinsically good) man out of the good treasure [stored] in his heart produces what is upright (honorable and intrinsically good), and the evil man out of the evil storehouse brings forth that which is depraved (wicked and intrinsically evil); for out of the abundance (overflow) of the heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45)
