Even when it seems like chaos abounds, God is in control. “No wisdom, no understanding, and no counsel will prevail against the Lord.” (Prov 21:30) Nothing is random with God. He is working out the details of everything toward His intended goal, which will display His attributes, character, and power for His glory. “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Prov 16:9)

We can choose to yield to His direction or stand against it, but nothing will prevail against the Lord. “When we heard it, our hearts melted and no courage remained in any man any longer because of you; for the Lord your God, He is God (Elohim) in heaven (Bashamayim) above and on earth beneath.” (Josh 2:11)

Elohim Bashamayim, God in heaven who sits above and on earth beneath, You are truly the God in the heavens. You are truly the ruler over all of the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You. You are Elohim Bashamayim who drove out the inhabitants of the land before Your people Israel and gave it to the descendants of Your friend, Abraham. You have likewise gone before me to open doors I could not open on my own, and lead me in a path that I could not have created on my own. I stand before You and lift up Your great name Elohim Bashamayim. I lift up my eyes and look to You. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
