There are times that when I look in mirror all I see are the flaws. Truthfully, it’s also easy to see the flaws in others. This morning the Lord used the song, “Beautiful” by MercyMe to cause me to see myself and others through His eyes.
Before you ever took a breath
Long before the world began
Of all the wonders He possessed
There was one more precious
Of all the earth and skies above
You’re the one He madly loves
Enough to die
You’re beautiful
You were meant for so much more than all of this
You’re beautiful
You are treasured, you are sacred, you are His
You’re beautiful In His eyes
Consider all our Savior endured for us. Why would He do that if He didn’t love us, treasure us and see us as His beautiful creation? “Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Ps 103:3-5)
Father God, thank You for the reminder of who I am to you, and to remember to see myself and others through Your eyes. Thank You for considering me, a lowly sinner, the reason for Your work here on earth in order to give me Your love, redemption and grace; even though there is nothing I can ever do to be worthy of Your sacrifice. I will walk through this day remembering that I am treasured, sacred, beautiful and best of all–Yours! May I also remember that is how You see everyone here. May Your light shine through me today, so that a seed is planted, watered or harvested for Your kingdom. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
