I’ve taken a few extra days off from posting. I was tired, I was rushed…. there were lots of excuses. Here’s the truth, I just didn’t do what the Lord had told me to do. So as I was getting ready this morning, driving to work, I grumbled about nothing that will matter at the end of my life. I’m going to share the contrast and compare that the Holy Spirit used to bring my thoughts, mind and heart back to thinking on what the Lord has done for me, instead of my grumblings.
- My hip hurts because it’s out of alignment. Thank the Lord, I am able to walk on my own!
- Traffic moved slowly this morning. Thank the Lord I have a car in good working condition and I was able to stay safe on my drive!
- I have so much I need to get done today, and it seems overwhelming. Thank the Lord He provided me with a job that uses the skills He gave me, and is able to meet my needs!
And then I was led to this Scripture: “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits” (Ps 103:1-2). Instead of looking at my circumstances, I was again reminded that I’m to keep my eyes on the Lord, and thank Him for all He has and will provide. I’m back in a thankful state of mind, and I have only the Holy Spirit’s urging to thank for that. What are you thankful for?
