It’s God’s will that we rejoice ALWAYS; that we pray continually, and in EVERYTHING give thanks to Him. “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thess 5:16-18)

This morning in this verse I found peace. We are told to ALWAYS rejoice. “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:4-7)

We know the Lord who is ALWAYS ready to hear our prayers, and we are told to pray to Him without ceasing. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1 Pet 3:12)

And His will for us is that we ALWAYS give Him thanks. “The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.” (Ps. 28:7)

If today you are finding it difficult to find what to thank Him for, start small. Can you read this? Give thanks for your sight! Can you hear the sound of the birds? Give thanks for your hearing! Make a list and watch it grow as we thank Him for all that He provides and will provide. ”Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” (Phil. 4:8)
