When our minds are filled with the love of Christ and with all the fullness of God, then the spirit of our minds are renewed and freed from the deceit of the world. That’s not always easy, because the prince of the air is always prowling around looking to devour us. He is crafty, having us trust our feelings more than God’s truth. “Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.”

One of my favorite songs is “You Say” by Lauren Daigle. The first verse shows our struggle. I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough; Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up; Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low? Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know.

If you find yourself struggling today with WHO you are in Christ, look not at your feelings, or what another human being says about you, but instead look to God’s truth.

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe (I), oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe

We are loved! The Lord, out of His abounding grace and mercy gave us the method by our faith to have everlasting life with Him. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) He did this knowing that there was no other way for us to have fellowship with Him. “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom. 5:8)

We are strong! Our strength doesn’t come from ourselves, but instead from His mighty power. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Is. 40:31) How do we have His strength? “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” (Phil. 4:13) We are even told to “be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power” (Eph. 6:10).

We are held! He holds us close. “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” (Is. 41:13) He never leaves us. “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deut. 31:8)

We belong to the Lord! and won’t allow anyone to snatch us from Him. “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:28) He alone is sovereign, and all belongs to Him! “Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.” (Ps. 100:3)

I encourage you to listen to what God says about you, not anyone else. If what you or anyone else says about you doesn’t line up with God’s Truth, then “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Cor. 10:5)

The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity

Taking all I have and now I’m laying it at Your feet
You have every failure God, and You’ll have every victory

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe (I), oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
