This morning in my Bible study, it is titled “Don’t Be Apathetic to Live for Jesus: Be Committed to God’s Word”. In order for us to walk in the way of the Lord to spend time in His Word. Paul expounded on his instructions to Timothy: “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of… you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:14-17)

Pretty much every day (even when reading Scripture I’ve studied many times), the Holy Spirit highlights something new, something that speaks to me today in a way that three months ago it didn’t have the same affect. The more time we spend in His Word and in prayer, the more He is able to show us. And His mercies and love are new every morning (Lam. 3:22-23).

As adults we know that the more time we spend in His Word, the more we get to know our Lord and see how He wants us to live. We know that: “[His] Word is a lamp for [our] feet, a light on [our] path” (Ps. 119:105). The same thing holds true for children. Earlier in this psalm it said: “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to Your Word. I seek You with all my heart; do not let me stray from Your commands. I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.” (vv 9-11)

There are so many worldly influences today. What are you doing to bring God’s Word to a child in your life? Do you read His Word with them? His Word will light the path that the enemy doesn’t want them to see. Let’s teach them to hide His Word in their hearts!
